Old Sheldon Church Ruins
Yemassee, SC 29945
Built in the mid 1700's, burned down in 1779, reconstructed in 1826 and burned down during the civil war, the Old Sheldon church has survived despite it all; it even maintained its resident ghost. According to legend, a pilgrim woman wearing a brown dress has been known to materialize in front of an infant's grave. Visitors to the tombstone report an overwhelmingly melancholic feeling that can not be described as general sadness or grief.

Visited on October 17, 2020 with my wife. Really enjoyed the ruins and old graves. We saw another couple and one had an NFL sweatshirt with our home state team so we started chatting with them. As the four of us were standing there I felt something fly by my face and a large tree branch landed by my feet. It was about the size of my arm and would have definitely done some damage if it had hit me on the head. None of us hear any snap or crack or anything indicating it was about to fall; it just flew past my face and ended up on the ground. We left after that.

June 27 2020. While taking a photograph of my 5 year old grandson, a mysterious green light appeared on his face. Also a green orb is directly over his head. The photograph was taken at the baby’s gravesite.
