Henning-Miller House
Georgetown, SC 29440
Dating back to 760, this house is said to be haunted by a ghost that likes to linger on the staircase. Stories say that when the British took over the home during the American Revolution, one of the officers fell down the stairs when he heard his daughter mention that Patriot hero Francis "Swamp Fox" Marion was in town. The British officer broke his neck during the fall and died immediately. Witnesses say that whenever anyone loses their footing on their stairway, they can feel a disembodied hand steadying them.

Reviews
I used to stay the night sometimes. we have seen huge eyes under the house, we've had a bottle get knocked over, and then put back. One night I got scared sleeping alone, went to try and get someone to stay in the room, and there was an imprint of someone laying on the other bed. I cried myself to sleep. My mother actually tripped on the stairs while holding me, and the spirit kept her from falling backwards. She also told me that she used to hear ballroom music, and people talking downstairs at night, but I never heard any.
