The swinging light on Parkers Ferry road is believed to belong to the ghost of a preacher. According to the story, the preacher went out later at night on a search party for his missing daughter. At some point during the night he was struck and killed by a car. The only thing is, he doesn't seem to know he's dead. You can see his ghost wandering the street, desperately searching for his daughter. Some people claim if you park your car and flash the headlights five times, his lantern will appear from the darkness.

More than 10 of us saw the swinging lantern

A fully loaded old school suburban with at least 10 guys plus a small sedan with about 3 people went together. Flashed lights 3 times at church, turned around, and parked up just a bit. Every single person saw what appeared someone walking with a lantern as it lit up only up to the chest as it walked on the right side off of the road toward our car. The light was more of a blue hue. The girls in the small car completely broke down and cried because the boyfriend would not let her start it until it got really close then finally turned vehicles on. Immediately whatever it was shot back maybe 1000 yards down parkers ferry rd and we could not catch up to it. Everyone saw it. It came within 40-60 feet of our vehicles. We all know what we saw. It was legitimate.

Terrifying

Me and a couple of friends went to this recently and we flashed the lights three times and drove down the road. We was sitting watching the light at the end of the road just sit there. Next thing we know the light disappears and the other girl screamed. It appeared she had been scratched by something on her shoulder and said it was burning and it was hot to the touch with visible welps. She also had deep scratches on her legs that came at the same time. We took off as soon as she said that and the light followed us out to the main road. It was a fun experience overall except for what happened to her.

Cool but TERRIFYING

My brother told me about this and we went to see it. He told us to go to the graveyard and honk the horn three times at the caged in headstone and flash the lights three times and then pull ahead on the road and park on the side and turn the car off and wait and we waited and I saw a shadow of someone pass in front of our car and the about two mins later we saw the light and it got closer and closer and it was getting too close for (my) comfort so we left and after we did, my brother find a handprint on our car (which we expected) but it was on the INSIDE!! I tripped me out. It was terrifying but awesome!!!
