Hotel Aiken is the home to numerous ghosts. Room 302 is believed to be particularly haunted. It is haunted by the ghost of a man who committed suicide by leaping from his window. A guest has reported to have seen the ghost of a stooped over old woman in the room. Room 225 is haunted by a ghost who has a fondness for television. Whenever the room is vacant the TV is mysteriously turned on. Shadowy figures run through the hallways, toilets flush on their own and doors open and close for no reason at all. There have also been reports of crying, whispering and screaming. Prankster ghosts move maid carts from one end of the hall to the other when they are left unattended.

  • Loved It...

I worked there for a long time. I worked in the restaurant and lounge mostly. I went up to the 2nd floor often to change clothes . I was in those rooms, but experienced nothing out of the ordinary... I spent a great deal of time there. Forrest Holley was very kind. He paid employees cheaply, but tips were great due to the guests, . I knew his mother who lived there and she never mentioned anything about ghosts.. I hate to see this place in such disarray. It used to be so gorgeous...

  • Yep. It's got activity of some kind

Heard an old fashioned phone ringing faintly between 1-2 in the morning. There is no phone in the room at all. Our cell phones had different ring tones. Heard what sounded like music from a music box and my husband heard faint muffled conversation. He checked outside and saw no one. We had no one in the room next door and we heard no outside noise during the hustle and bustle of the day when town is busy. It may not have been spirit activity but it was certainly unexplained. We're definitely planning a return trip!
