Dating back to 1740, this plantation is most famous for its ghost, Dr. Henry Tucker. Tucker was a member of one of the families to own the plantation in the late 1800's and his apparition has been spotted in the Blue Room. His spirit is said to be friendly. Other strange occurrences here include chambermaid apparitions and eerie lights.

According to stories, a guest that was staying in the Chrysanthemum Room woke up to find a woman's ghost standing near his band. He said the ghost did not want him to leave the inn and when he went to exit, she tore up his newspaper into tiny pieces and left them all over the floor.

There are two spirits that are believed to haunt this inn, and they're both dogs. A previous caretaker once owned two Boston Terriers, and stories say that one of them swam out in the surf to save a young boy's life.
