This road is known to paranormal enthusiasts as the place where a Civil War eria slave named Eloise roams. The story says that Union soldiers killed Eloise's master nearby and the distraught slave was reluctant to leave her master's body. When the soldiers found her mourning his death, they killed her too. Her ghost is said to roam along the road, screaming.
