The Poinsett bridge has been abandoned and left to the ghosts. Built in 1820 this fourteen foot Gothic style bridge is no longer safe for public use. Visitors to the area have reported their cars faltered when starting, and they could hear bizarre screams and moans. According to legend, a slave was hanged from the bridge. Some people claim to have heard his screams when near the bridge.
